Therapeutic | Visual | Sensory
Ropana holds a dual meaning in Sanskrit and Hindi. This is especially important to me as my heritage is Indian. In Sanskrit, it signifies healing, while in Hindi, it represents growth and the concept of nurturing seeds to watch them flourish.
This concept perfectly reflects the message conveyed across all of my books, including those that are Visual, Sensory, and Therapeutic in nature. Through Ropana Therapeutic Stories, my aim is to empower young individuals, helping them discover their inner resilience, understand and process their emotions, and validate their feelings. These stories also provide parents, carers and teachers with strategies tailored to specific needs and offer creative approaches using the power of metaphor, play, and the creative arts.
Sensory
The Brave Water Lily
The first ever instalment of the Ropana Sensory Stories collection, titled ‘The Brave Water Lily,’ introduces readers to the captivating journey of a steadfast and determined little water lily. This sensory narrative stands apart in structure from visual narratives and therapeutic genres of writing, as it represents the essence of a sensory story.
A sensory story is a fully immersive experience that invites children to participate and engage with the story through a sequence of sensory instructions. To enhance the visual dimension of this special little narrative, three of my detailed embroideries have been incorporated, each illustrating clear stages of the water lily’s remarkable journey.
Please stay tuned for the upcoming release of this powerful experiential story, where readers will have the opportunity to truly feel and visualise the tale of “The Brave Water Lily’.”

B is for Botswana
(Coming Soon)
The first of Ropana’s Visual Stories is coming soon. ‘B is for Botswana: An Alphabet free adventure’ is Ropana Stories’ first wordless picture book, set in the captivating landscapes of Botswana.
Each page is designed to evoke a strong sense of wonder and curiosity as children are taken on a journey from savannahs to rich images of daily life. Every image has been thoughtfully curated to provide a unique insight into Botswanan culture. The visuals are designed to foster a curiosity to explore and learn about different cultures.
The wordless story culminates in a series of creative activities which bridge the gap between imagination and reality, as the reader is invited to create, and connect with a culture that may have been unfamiliar before. The story is designed to ignite a child’s imagination through a sense of wanderlust and imagination.
